Company History
Advanced Metallurgical Services (AMS Testing) Ltd is a family-owned business and was founded in 1990. With more than 30 years of experience, our distinct purpose is to provide the highest quality materials testing services in the industry.
When the lab was founded its main purpose was to serve a steel stockholding company, however, over the years that developed to a stand-alone laboratory that serves a wide variety of industries. Most recently, in February 2020, AMS reached a big milestone and moved to new facilities which were coupled with a big investment to upgrade all the equipment.
AMS has evolved from initially providing its services to a single steel stockholder, to a leading materials testing lab.
Today, AMS prides itself on an extensive schedule of UKAS accredited tests and offers a large range of testing services tomany industry sectors. AMS is proud of its comprehensive product knowledge and the staff’s ability to provide technical support to all its customers. AMS has successfully developed a unique position within the laboratory testing scene providing immediate friendly, personal, and professional advice from extensive experience in many sectors.
About us
AMS aims to provide the highest quality products and services to our clients. Our laboratory is accredited to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 which practically recognizes our competence, impartiality and consistent operation.
It’s two main clauses are management and technical requirements against which we are being audited on a yearly basis. The technical requirements address the competence of staff; testing methodology; equipment and quality; and reporting of test and results.
The management requirements are related to the operation and effectiveness of the quality management system within the laboratory, and this clause has similar requirements and operations in accordance with ISO 9001.
AMS operates an Integrated Quality Management System to ensure that Quality processes are managed in an effective manner to the satisfaction and benefits of its stakeholders. BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is accredited by UKAS and BS EN ISO 9001:2015 is certified by a UKAS accredited certification body Alcumus ISOQAR.
